[edit]I think the information about the Marian School decile ratings etc...) really belong a page of the school's own. Canopus1968 (talk) 04:40, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
- Primary schools are generally considered insufficiently notable to justify their own article, which is why they get merged to their parent localities. (95% of articles created on primary schools get deleted or redirected). dramatic (talk) 09:45, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Hamilton East and Claudelands
[edit]Suburb boundaries are not well-defined, but for these two suburbs I or my predecessors have used LINZ NZ Suburbs and Localities map or the earlier Fire and Emergency map (no longer online). Stats NZ, in its new SA3 maps, has its own view of what constitutes a suburb/natural locality Stats NZ SA3 2023 layer, and it makes Peachgrove/Greensboro a separate suburb from these two. The pre-2018 Stats NZ Area Unit maps (under "Other Geographies" on the same link as the SA3 maps) show yet another mapping of suburbs.
We could leave the existing two suburb articles for this area; we could separate out Peachgrove/Greenboro as a single new article per current Stats NZ maps, or we could separate out Peachgrove and Greensboro as two new articles, as the very high density in Greensboro (presumably mostly student accommodation) is quite different to anything around it.
I'm interested in any feedback, and even more interested if anyone supporting the creation of new articles wants to do the work of writing them (I can easily do the demographics). If there's no feedback, I'll leave the status quo for now, but might revisit this when the 2028 census maps are available.-Gadfium (talk) 03:12, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
- I'd not heard of Greensboro before, except as a street. It looks as though there's also a park, but realty ads for the area refer to it as Hillcrest, or Hamilton East. There's a redirect from Peachgrove to Claudelands. That article could say more about Peachgrove. As in my comments on the Talk page of Suburbs of Hamilton it still seems to me we need a system for suburbs. I'd support using the LINZ map. Johnragla (talk) 04:09, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
