... that Hamdan Taha co-led excavations at Hisham's Palace, (pictured) an early Islamic archaeological site in the West Bank?

Journal of Eastern Mediterranean Archaeology and Heritage Studies. 1 (1): 54.: "Khirbat al-Mafjar ... is one of the most important cultural symbols of early Islamic archaeology in Palestine."

Overall: The article was created and nominated for DYK on March 31. Length and sourcing are adequate. The article is neutral in tone. I found no plagiarism concerns despite Earwig highlighting proper nouns which are not violations. The proposed hook is interesting, but I cannot verify it. The phrase "an early Islamic archaeological site in the West Bank" seems to be missing. The nominated image is in the public domain on the Commons, used in the article, enhances the hook, and is clear at a low resolution. The QPQ requirement is complete. Thank you for reviewing the article, Flibirigit. The wording used in the hook is now used in the article. Hisham's Palace and Khirbat al-Mafjar are different names for the same site, so two sources are used to support the hook. The first supports that it's an early Islamic archaeological site and the second that Taha co-directed the excavations. Richard Nevell (talk) 18:40, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
