Illegal monopoly

[edit]

The judge's ruling that Google search is an illegal monopoly is a big deal. It should have its own paragraph or, ideally, its own section. There is currently a very short subsection, a sentence really, but this should be developed because it is really notable.

See references here, here and here. As Slate mentions, this ruling "is nothing short of historic." MexFin (talk) 08:18, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ADD to: Discontinued features

[edit]

Google now loads results, then redirects javascript-free search requests to a no-javascript denial page.[1]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. The Github page is about a error with a annoymous browsing source, its not known if that is actually the truth within the google.com site. Valorrr (lets chat) 00:42, 8 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

'Visibly cringe' sources

[edit]

For the sentence 'This revelation reportedly caused Google's lead attorney to cringe visibly.[citation needed]', I suggest the following two sources to back the claim:

https://www.businessinsider.com/google-lawyer-cringed-court-confidential-apple-payment-ad-revenue-report-2023-11

https://fortune.com/2023/11/14/google-lawyer-cringes-in-court-antitrust-john-schmidtlein-apple-36-percent-search-advertising/

I cannot edit the page, hence I started this topic. PS Halper (talk) 15:27, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

in the summary, global visits data is for google.com, so taht should be mentioned, or else data should be the sum across all domains, not just .com 46.164.50.89 (talk) 17:31, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

hm, I guess google.com is the global domain, but then I'm confused why USA leads traffic by so much 46.164.50.89 (talk) 17:36, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Day Creature (talk) 23:43, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting proposal

[edit]

I propose that the section about AI mode be split into a separate page called AI Mode or Google AI Mode. Considering that we already have a page about AI Overviews for Google, I think AI Mode will likely be the next big thing when it comes to AI. Please let me know what you think. Support. Good idea especially given all the coverage about it. InvadingInvader (userpage, talk) 13:48, 21 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
