Enlightenment faction
[edit]Surely this page should be called the "Enlightenment faction". It was not a political party in any modern sense. MargaretRDonald (talk) 22:30, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
- I'm also bugged by the article title. It'd be hard to prove WP:COMMONNAME because of name overlap, but I think WP:USEENGLISH may also apply. Whether or not it was truly a political party may not matter depending on what the common name is; if scholars call it a party (I don't think they do though), then we call it one. toobigtokale (talk) 08:20, 28 January 2024 (UTC)

Gaehwa Party → Enlightenment Party – WP:COMMONNAME. Regardless "Gaehwa" is likely inappropriate, as it uses Revised Romanization.
Not much on ngrams, but these major scholarly works use "Enlightenment Party":
