Flag of the Patujú flower

[edit]

Does this flag have any official status? It seems to be a banner of protest by the then-acting president. – Kaihsu (talk) 18:43, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bandera Menor/Mayor .svg files and replacing them

[edit]

So, I was using Inkscape to view the old red-and-green Bolivian flags and noticed something weird about them. I couldn't select *anything* save for the flag itself. I went to see the shape's subcategories when i noticed there weren't any, and then noticed the shapes looked... pixelated. As it turns out they're not proper vector graphics, but instead just a flat .jpeg pasted on an .svg canvas. Who does that??? Like, what's the point of doing that anyway, considering you could've just uploaded the original .jpeg image instead. Wikipedia doesn't have some mandatory .svg requirement for flags as far as I know, so it just seems super bizarre.

Anyhow, main point is, with them being deletion candidates they have to be replaced, so I was wondering if I'd be able to simply trace over them in Inkscape or a similar tool. I'm not sure if Wikipedia allows that, if I have to attribute the authors and how etc. so I wanted to see if anyone knew the info before I took those steps. Civil flag

[edit]

The main flag shown is the civil flag. Why is this? Is it more important in Bolivia than the state flag? As someone not from Bolivia, I'm no doubt ignorant, but in my experience the state flag is the one seen waved by Bolivians outside the country. 2A00:23C4:6B13:D801:99C4:9A7D:7493:EC12 (talk) 18:17, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We have an article State flag. I don't know about Bolivia, but state flags are often restricted to official government use or flown by naval vessels etc., and so can be considered specialized. AnonMoos (talk) 21:21, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
