Change from “Is” to “Was”

[edit]

With the upcoming deportations based on criticism of Israel, the first amendment is no longer valid, and has to be shown as such on the page. 2806:2F0:A0C1:FCC3:225D:DFF:FE1B:5350 (talk) 21:17, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There are many reasons why this edit request will not be completed, but the most important reason is that consensus must be establish before implementing this change. ZergTwo (talk) 03:54, 11 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question regarding short description

[edit]

Idk if I'm being a casual regarding law, but aren't the rights protected under the First Amendment civil LIBERTIES and NOT civil rights? This should be fixed if my questions are correct. Thank you. -1ctinus📝🗨 12:40, 3 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've always thought of the terms as synonymous, and it is part of what's commonly referred to as the Bill of Rights Jameson Nightowl (talk) 23:16, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Article review

[edit]

It has been a whilee since this was reviewed, so I took a look and noticed the following:

  • There's uncited text, including entire paragraphs.
  • The article has lots of block quotes. These should be written in summary style or reduced in size to its most important aspects.
  • At over 14,000 words, this article is too detailed and WP:TOOBIG. I suggest that text be spun out, summarised more effectively, or removed.
  • Heritage Foundation is used twice as a source, which is considered unreliable on English Wikipedia. This citation should be replaced or its text removed.

Should this article go to WP:GAR? Z1720 (talk) 02:25, 1 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

President of the U.S.A. Advisor:: 1st Amendment simply what it says.
