Merge/redirect

The following discussion is closed and will soon be archived: outcome was: merged/redirected

I propose to merge the content from this article to Mullingar#Tourism. And to redirect this title to that section. I propose this because, per the longstanding tag, there is nothing to indicate that this public artwork meets WP:GEOFEAT (for man-made structures). Or WP:WPVA#Notability (for notability of artworks). I note that, while the fountain is included in the RPS by Westmeath County Council, this is not the "national level" protection discussed in WP:GEOFEAT. And the RPS listing alone doesn't make the structure automatically notable (any more than the houses listed immediately before it (or the random walls or gateposts or pumps or hydrants or postboxes or sewer vents listed after it) are sufficiently notable for standalone articles). The sources in the article (nor any that I can find outside it) do not establish notability or allow for expansion beyond the permastub we have. (All of the sources are directory-style entries which only just about establish that the subject exists - and do not discuss it in any depth at all.) While the title could be deleted under WP:G5 (as a creation by a banned user who used a sock to create this title), I propose a redirect as an WP:ATD.  Resolved OK. I've gone ahead with and merged what limited cited text there was. And redirected the title as proposed. Closing. Guliolopez (talk) 19:46, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
