When should designers use one vs. another? Is there an article on GUI design best practices? It is one thing to know how they function, but the next issue is when to use one vs. another. I've seen "pulldown list" frequently used to describe the same thing. Google returns 15,400,000 results for "drop-down list", but there are also 1,780,000 results for "pulldown list". Incorrect category?

Drop-down lists are data input elements (like radio buttons), not command elements (like menus or buttons).
