25 or 26 sexual abuse allegations?

[edit]

Intro: 'Since the 1970s, at least 26 women have publicly accused Donald Trump, of rape, kissing, and groping without consent; looking under women's skirts; and walking in on naked teenage pageant contestants.'

General overview: 'Donald Trump has been accused of rape, sexual assault, and sexual harassment, including non-consensual kissing or groping, by at least 25 women since the 1970s.'

This article counts 27: 'Stacey Williams is 27th woman to accuse Trump of sexual misconduct' - https://www.axios.com/2024/10/28/trump-sexual-misconduct-allegations-women MathewMunro (talk) 07:27, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Since both numbers are qualified by "at least", I have chosen the lower of 25 and 26. I did not change the 27. GA-RT-22 (talk) 20:39, 23 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Is the initial image really necessary?

[edit]

I propose to delete the image present in the lead, or to change it. JacktheBrown (talk) 14:54, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You do not say why you object to this image. It is not of good quality but it does show Trump and one of the alleged victims, so I think it has to stay unless a better image can be found. It is definitely better than nothing. To be better than this, a replacement image would need to show Trump either with one the alleged victims or with another connected person mentioned prominently in the article such as Jeffrey Epstein. My thought is to use Trump with E. Jean Carroll as the lead image, as that was the highest profile allegation, and Trump with Epstein in the section about Epstein. I like your idea but it should be noted that the alleged victim in question here recanted her confession in 2015. Not saying that means the entire story is bologna, but out of the dozens of allegations here, why use the one who claimed 20 years later that she had actually been lying the entire time? The image is much too inappropriate for the subject matter even if her allegations are noteworthy, especially as half the women on here can't even be verified to have ever seen Trump face-to-face meanwhile Ivana was married to Trump for over a decade... but point still stands. Ivana denied having ever been raped by Trump up until her passing in 2022, so showing a low-quality image of Trump alongside an ex-wife who denied having been raped is not worthy enough to be the initial image for this section. breakdown of accusations

[edit]

The summary should breakdown the number of penis rapes, finger rapes, forced huggings, forced kissings, and other acts since the 26 claims cover a vast range of actions. Joe Farrell 01 (talk) 18:36, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Joe Farrell 01: Please make an edit suggestion? The format "change X to Y" is preferred. Please add citations if required. One can reuse citations see wp:REFNAMES. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 19:15, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Katie Johnson/Jane Doe (1994)

[edit]

Sorry, I am newer to Wikipedia and was not sure whether this should be a RfC or an edit request. Please respond in the comments if you believe this should be in a different format.

On November 05, 2016, a RfC was opened on "Jane Doe content" that was closed without consensus. Hence, per WP:NOCON, "for contentious matters related to living people, a lack of consensus often results in the removal of the contentious matter, regardless of whether the proposal was to add, modify or remove it," the section was not included. It appears the section was then added on May 31, 2020.

In June 2016, Anna Merlan wrote in Jezebel that on August 5, 2015, a publicist identifying themselves as "Al Taylor" contacted Gawker Media with explosive "info". Shortly after an NDA was signed, the first California lawsuit had been filed. Merlan claimed that Steve Baer relayed messages to journalists to report on the scandal, and eventually, just before the New York lawsuit was filed, Baer warned that the story would be publicly available.[1] Later, an article written by The Guardian corroborated these claims and wrote of evidence uncovered linking "Al Taylor" to "Jerry Springer Show" producer Norm Lubow.[2] Since then, in 2024, Snopes has confirmed that Lubow has confirmed that he was Al Taylor and had assisted the victim with her first filing, the video, and promoting her claims to the press.[3]

As of 2025, the case has not been refiled nor has any evidence corroborating the victim's claim surfaced. The only meaningful update is that in 2019, Sacramento News & Review alongside a private investigator investigated her claims and found some evidence linking Katie Johnson to a 29-year-old Republican esthetician (note that this implies the individual would be 4 years old as of 1994).[4] One month later, an update would be published in which the victim's attorneys wrote claiming that she "is and was a real person" in 2019 and asserted that the case was dropped since "Johnson’s car and cellphone were stolen."[5] It seems one attorney, Evan Goldman, had not been able to reach the victim on account of her disconnecting her telephone number "recently".

Rachel Stockman, president of Law & Crime and who provided the original summary and analysis of Doe v. Trump (2016)[6] has outwardly called it a "made-up" story that had major veracity issues in both legal circles and media networks.[7]

Julie K. Brown, a Miami Herald journalist who is widely credited with re-opening the Jeffrey Epstein sexual abuse case, has claimed in her 2021 book Perversion of Justice that Lisa Bloom had asserted that despite public speculation that the lawsuit was dropped due to public interference from Trump affiliates, the unnamed client dropped the case on her own accord and had not contacted Bloom since.[8] In 2024, Brown maintained that despite much time, she was unable to contact both the victim and her attorneys; the victim's address in the California lawsuit was false and she was linked to political operatives.[9]

I believe under WP:UNDUE and WP:EXCEPTIONAL, the section should be removed. John Kinslow (talk) 04:57, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Any objections? Otherwise, this discussion will be auto-archived in 30 days John Kinslow (talk) 05:26, 20 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The story is supported by zero evidence... There are many reasons to believe that Doe's story was completely fabricated. In addition, a legal source who had discussions with the woman and investigated the claim, has confirmed to me that her story appeared to be a "fake." It was also well-known among media insiders that major networks would never touch the case because the allegations had major veracity issues.

Jane Doe has received numerous threats today as have all Trump accusers I have represented. She is living in fear," Bloom said, adding that "we are going to have to reschedule." Bloom said Johnson was at her office most of the day preparing. "I was trying to go in the direction of airing her story publicly, and it was frankly embarrassing for me to cancel it. I took her out the back stairway and she instructed me to drop the case. I told her she should sleep on it. The next day she confirmed she dropped the case and she did not want us to ever talk about it again." Since then, Johnson seems to have disappeared. "I don't know where she is and haven't spoken to her since 2016," Bloom said. Speculation soon circulated that the suit was dropped after a payoff by Trump or someone on his behalf, but Bloom brushed aside those rumors. "Trump's people never reached out," Bloom said. "There was absolutely no communication with anyone in the Trump team."

The woman just wouldn't talk, and her lawyer would not confirm she was even legit. Her first two lawyers were patent lawyers. They wouldn't talk either. The address she gave on her first lawsuit was false. She was linked to political operatives at one point.
