Why the reversion?

@Adamstom.97 So are we to assume that this franchise is not following the structure of the MCU? Why was DC Studios even created if you are going to focus on Gunn and Safran, the latter of whom has had no input whatsoever since he was hired. And the caption was removed for the very obvious reason that the image clearly is a logo for DC Studios and not DC Comics or DC Entertainment. The whole edit was WP:BOLD, you completely changed the structure/format of the lead without discussion. In any established article with active editors you can expect to get pushback on a change like that. You re-wrote the lead so it focused more on the MCU than on the people who are making this franchise, which would only be appropriate if that is what the rest of the article did. But it does not, there is one paragraph where some comparisons are made to the MCU but otherwise it is not discussed throughout the whole article. Similarly, discussion about the making of the DCU in this article focuses almost entirely on Gunn and Safran so that is what the lead should do as well (not sure why you think Safran has had "no input whatsoever since he was hired", he is literally producing all the projects with Gunn). The reason we have a caption for the logo is not because it is unclear what the logo is, it is because this is an article about the DCU and the image is for DC Studios so it is useful to clarify why it is being used. - adamstom97 (talk) 11:53, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Adamstom.97 The article is titled "DC Universe", not "Gunn Universe". Why is the article then focusing on Gunn instead of DC Studios? Also my rewritten lead is no way focused on the MCU. I only drew a very legit comparison with the MCU based on a very obvious similarity. The decision of dividing the universe into "chapters" is clearly mimicking the MCU style of "phases". In regards to Safran, just having a producer credit doesn't mean the man is actively involved. Nothing has been heard so far of his opinions or contributions regarding the franchise. - Ash wki (talk) 18:48, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The lead needs to reflect the contents of the article with WP:DUEWEIGHT. Anyone who actually reads this article would agree that Gunn is the main driver of everything included here. Trying to downplay his involvement in the lead is clearly wrong. Your personal opinion on what the article should be focused on is irrelevant. As for Safran, he does not need to give public interviews to prove that he is working on the franchise. He is co-CEO of DC Studios with Gunn and is producing all the projects with him, so again his role should not be downplayed. - adamstom97 (talk) 19:20, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dynamic Duo

Hmm. I'm iffy on this one because we don't have a direct quote of Gunn saying this. I will note that ComingSoon's article is just a crosspost from a SuperHeroHype article. Not sure if Gizmodo is saying this is official because Gunn said so or if they concluded it on their own. Trailblazer101 (talk) 16:41, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The new shows

I'm not sure if My Adventures with Green Lantern, DC Super Powers, and Starfire are confirmed to be part of the DCU. Nowhere on the websites the projects are mentioned to be DCU series, and since they also provided updates on Matt Reeves' Batman, it wasn't clearly a DCU-only press event. Furthermore, Starfire executive producer Josie Campbell says she believes ot will be an "Elseworlds" show. BestDaysofMusic (talk) 19:21, 24 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

My Adventures with Green Lantern sounds like it could be related to My Adventures with Superman, I would say we treat them as Elseworlds for now. - adamstom97 (talk) 19:41, 24 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. My Adventures with Green Lantern has same title and font as Superman series, so likely that is a spin-off set in that universe. The only one with potential would be Starfire, but since that & Super Powers don't have specifics, it's best to treat them similar to Dynamic Duo. I believe it makes sense to treat anything that is not explicitly/clearly labeled as part of the DCU to be a standalone Elseworldds property, but we would still require sources to confirm they have the Elseworlds label.
