[edit]Cyclone Alfred (2025) → Cyclone Alfred. Alfred 1986 was a fish storm and Alfred 2017 only briefly affected land. Alfred 2025 was a rare cyclone that caused severe damage in Brisbane. It is also the seventh costliest Australian region tropical cyclone. Jpuxfrd (talk) 22:40, 26 March 2025 (UTC)
- Extremely Strong Support the damage from Alfred is significant, way more significant than Jasper from 2023. Bronco3706 (talk) 16:29, 27 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Jpuxfrd and Bronco3706: Someone revert the rename, as this appears to be an unofficial discussion. I started a formal one below. --A1Cafel (talk) 09:34, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
Albanese Attended Fundraising Event, Postponed Second, During Cyclone
[edit]Albanese was guilty of exactly the same offense Dutton is being crucified for in the Criticism section, and by Labor members, yet there's no whisper of the fact. Is this oversight or pure partisanship? (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14513065/anthony-albanese-peter-dutton-cyclone-alfred.html https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-03-14/albanese-attended-political-fundraiser-alfred/105053510)
Assuming this is unintentional, might I suggest this be rectified? 114.198.63.34 (talk) 03:47, 5 April 2025 (UTC)

Cyclone Alfred (2025) → Cyclone Alfred – Start an official RM here, as some believed that a rare landfall in southeastern Queensland plus the seventh costliest Australian cyclone could be considered as a WP:PTOPIC. A1Cafel (talk) 09:32, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- Extremely Strong Support the damage from Alfred is significant, way more significant than Jasper from 2023, not to mention its rainfall record. Bronco3706 (talk) 14:48, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support as Alfred caused a lot of records, specifically for rainfall and damage Accordthemusician (talk) 15:14, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support The impact was significant enough, and it reached a higher category than the previous Alfred's. Nford24 (PE121 Personnel Request Form) 21:31, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support I believe the name has now been retired from the list of cyclone names, which is the normal practice after a severe event, so there will be no future Cyclone Alfred to eclipse this as the primary topic. Kerry (talk) 03:53, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- Having said that, I can't find a citation to support it. Kerry (talk) 04:00, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- Alfred 2025 wasn't retired at this point. I think that a rare landfall in southeastern Queensland and massive impacts could become a primary topic. --A1Cafel (talk) 04:09, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Having said that, I can't find a citation to support it. Kerry (talk) 04:00, 20 April 2025 (UTC)

- Strong Support, I looked up only Cyclone Alfred on the search engine, and shows this one, it caused damage and hit Brisbane, which is unusual for a direct landfall. StormHunterBryante5467⛈️ 16:41, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- Not Supportive. Since there are two other storms called Alfred, changing the name to Cyclone Alfred might cause confusion. 223.16.216.90 (talk) 02:53, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
