To address the concerns of the initial reviewer, I am now starting a major edit of the language of the article. I understand the concern regarding the length and detail of the article, but I believe this new category of organometallic complexes warrants more detail than was suggested and more primary sources that go beyond the initial review could be tapped into. There are quite a few successful examples of detailed organometallic and main group chemistry articles that are similar in scope and length. I am now working to get the language to a point where it is more appealing to a general audience, while I understand that it is difficult. After talking to the WikiEdu staff helping out with the course that this is being written as a part of, we have identified the following major issues.
It is not too detailed but is too dense, to address this, vary sentence lengths, shorten paragraphs and go from more general to more specific in each section.
The “While…” type sentences are too fluffy and result in confusion. Use declarative sentences that are followed up by a more detailed explanation.
Design the introduction such that even people who read the first sentence only have something to learn.
Design each paragraph such that there is a simple main takeaway in the beginning of each section.
Add missing links to preexisting articles that explain the chemical concepts
Introduce verbal cues to familiar concepts such as stereochemistry
I hope these edits will help the article better align with Wikipedias goals, and remain as a helpful resource to the chemistry community with all its custom visualizations and graphical summaries.
This article is modeled after many helpful articles based on both review articles, and primary sources of very similar scope of which many of our peers have found very helpful. A few examples to this include Persistent carbene, Coinage metal N-heterocyclic carbene complexes, Triboracyclopropenyl, 9-Borafluorene. I would kindly ask for the reviewers to reconsider with this large chunk of helpful organometallic, inorganic and main group chemistry in mind, where families of chemicals like these in fact act as great articles to get a start of grasping key organometallic concepts.
