Intended Edits for this Article
[edit]Hello! I am starting work on this article as part of a Technical Editing class at Texas A&M University. I wanted to share what I plan to work on before making any major edits.
- Possibly introduce Keurig Dr. Pepper as a current competitor in the cola wars, especially as they already occupy a large section in comparison of products table
- Include further information on Coca-Cola’s part of the cola war, as it seems there is more Pepsi-related information, especially in the “Celebrity Branding” section
- Any copyediting required – grammar, spelling, style, tone, and similar errors
Please respond if you feel that there is anything I need to know about this article before any edits are made. Thank you! Lizzie.butterfly (talk) 19:07, 20 February 2025 (UTC)
- Howdy! I have finished my edits on this article and wanted to do a general summary and explanation of my edits for future editors.
- I decided not to add Keurig Dr. Pepper under the lead after rereading the archived talk page. Although a discussion contemplating whether Dr. Pepper should be added was resolved, the resolution has not been followed through, but I would encourage future editors to read the archived post. I deleted some sentences that were blatant original research, and added “[citation needed]” to claims that may be backed up by a source. Because of the deleted sentences there are some sparse paragraphs, but I am leaving that for future editors that want to take on this article.
- I also reorganized the sections under advertising strategies so that it was in chronological order and easier to follow rather than jumping back and forth in time and products
- Something I recommend considering is to summarizing the Joya Williams section under “History” as it is one of the longest paragraphs, and while it is very intresting, there is now an inbalance of information. If you don't decide to summarize the section, than maybe adding some more information on Coca-Cola would work. Lizzie.butterfly (talk) 02:54, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
