3 Article Critiques
[edit]Hello all,
Under-Representation - I feel the "In Popular Culture" heading is under-represented. The Cocker Spaniel has been owned my many public figures such as; President Nixon, George Clooney and Oprah. They are also the dog in the famous Coppertone ad.
Missing Photo - The English Cocker Spaniel has and adult and puppy photo in its section but the American Cocker Spaniel only has an adult photo.
Dated Material - Popularity stats are approaching 10 years old. Maybe and updated poll or a link to dog popularity throughout the years would be beneficial

'Sprocker Spaniels'
[edit]@Pigsonthewing the onus for inclusion of content falls on the editor who wishes to include the disputed content and disputed content should not be included until a consensus determines it should be included.
There are much better sources we should be looking to than search engine optimisation websites and a charity related to the breed. Traumnovelle (talk) 08:01, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
- The former may be true where facts are contentious and liable to be disputed; but are you really arguing that a Sprocker is not a cross between a Cocker and a Springer Spaniel? As I said in my edit summary when I undid your unnecessary blanking of the relevant section, which is the target for a redirect used in other articles, "If you don't like a source, find a different one. Don't be destructive.". You might also usefully read Wikipedia:Revert only when necessary—not least the section "Alternatives to reverting".
- As for the current source, a charity related—indeed dedicated solely—to the breed is a highly authoritative source for its makeup. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:12, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
- I am arguing it is undue. There are dozens of crossbreeds involving spaniels and I've never once heard (or seen) of this one. Traumnovelle (talk) 19:48, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
