To add to article

"Police and civilians" needs to be corrected, police are by definition civilians, as they are not members of the armed services. 2600:1700:F250:C520:4CD0:788B:3B81:C729 (talk) 23:28, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
Not done: From our page on Civilian:
In general, a civilian is "a person who is not a member of the police, the armed forces, or a fire department".
– Muboshgu (talk) 23:31, 15 June 2020 (UTC)- "In colloquial usage, the term is sometimes used to distinguish non-military law enforcement officers and (in the US) firefighters from support staff or the general public. Regardless, such members are civilians - not military personnel - and are bound by municipal; civil and criminal law to the same extent as other members of the public."
- Police should not be referred to as "civilians" in an encyclopedia. 162.229.187.147 (talk) 02:52, 14 May 2022 (UTC)

Citation # 14 needs to be either removed or mended because it does not lead to any article. The sentence leading to the citation should be removed as well. 2600:8801:9600:5F:ED15:C7FC:3992:129 (talk) 17:42, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
Not done: The citation also includes an archive link ([1]), so it is still valid. Pupsterlove02 talk • contribs 17:56, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- It's also unclear what "sentence leading to the citation" you mean, since the citation is used 6 times. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:56, 16 June 2020 (UTC)

Term of Art
[edit]Under the subheading "Termination and failed appeal," the article states, "The appeals court concluded that the LAPD had substantial evidence for its finding that Dorner was not credible in his allegations against Evans."
I belive that "substantial" is in this case a term of art (See St. Elizabeth Com. Hosp. v. Heckler, 745 F. 2d 587 - Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit 1984) and ought to be noted as such. 108.35.116.52 (talk) 04:31, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
