Azem Bejta was a rebel in the true sense, he was also a murderer, according to firsthand accounts. He murdered a lot of Albanians as well, which is why he lost support when Zog become prime minister of Albania. One of the people he had murdered in cold blood was also Beqir Agë Vokshi in Krumë in an ambush. 185.173.207.148 (talk) 08:44, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Beqir Vokshi, who was killed for collaborating with Zog, the pro-Yugoslav, anti-Kosovar dictator? First and foremost, it's important to understand that Zog was opposed to Albanian movements from Kosova because they were heavily aligned with anti-Zogist movements in Albania itself. Also, don't forget that when Zog was ousted from power during the June Revolution, he returned to power only with the help of the Yugoslavs. The Neutral Zone of Junik was not only a hotbed for Albanian kaçaks during the Kachak Movement, but also a hotbed for anti-Zogist leaders who were forced to fight a war on two fronts. Pro-Yugoslav Zog on one side, and the Yugoslavs themselves on the other.
Beqir Vokshi, as an agent of Zog, attempted to turn the locals of Junik and its surroundings against the Kaçaks and furthered Zog's interests in the region. According to sources, Beqir Aga had a meeting with Hasan Prishtina a few days prior to leaving for Krumë, in which Prishtina begged him to abandon Zog's cause. Beqir ignored Prishtina's pleas, and a few days later he was reportedly killed by Azem Galica and his men. As far as I'm concerned, that's not so much a murder in cold blood. Rather, it would seem to be more so disposing of an agent who is working for the enemy. Slander against Azem Bejta spouted by pro-Zogists who do not take into account the context of the situation really should not circulate the internet...
