Did you know... that according to legend, the 5th century Avukana statue (pictured), a large stone figure of the Buddha, is the result of a competition between a sculpting master and student?

Aukana site and Aukana Buddha

Aukana is an ancient Buddhist site, rather interesting in its configuraton. The Buddha is famous, but we probably need an article for the whole site, and one for the Buddha. Views? --Shirazibustan (talk) 11:32, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Shirazibustan[reply]
