Hong Kong Quad Series

[edit]

Hello,

Just wanted to check on the ground for the series. Article here says Hong Kong Cricket Club while Cricinfo says the Mission ROad Ground. @Bs1jac: Ankurc.17 (talk) 04:42, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Ankurc.17 Yeah saw that. Probably go with cricinfo for now and keep an eye on it. Announcement from CAN had said HKCC. Bs1jac (talk) 06:00, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Matches between ICC associate and non-ICC associate members

[edit]

Colombia/Mexico tour was put up here then taken down. Mexico is ICC and Colombia is not (yet). Colombia's ICC admission is overdue but has been held up for decades mostly due to local law recognition issues. Colombia play international cricket tournaments whose matches are included in these pages (like South American Championships) and have done for over a decade. And even hosted those championships and came third recently beating 3 ICC associate teams. Colombia is a well-known anomaly and their games are already on these pages when in tournaments. Uruguay is in a similar situation. Is it better to be inclusive here and also include non T20I international T20 matches for nations like this? ESPN do. Or limit to T20I ? Would it require a tweak to the intro maybe 'and international matches of ICC associate members with non-ICC associate members' perhaps? Views welcomed. Featuring of non-ICC teams like Uruguay and Colombia in events like South American Championships as you've mentioned is a multi-team tournament, so they've been inclusive of both ICC and non-ICC teams. But this being a bilateral series, none of the matches will have T20I status so I am not sure it would be apt to include them? Cric editor (talk) 15:52, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe a new section at the end of the page for international matches involving ICC associate members that are not T20I, outside of multi-national tournaments? Mexico - Colombia series will not be T20I but it is an international match involving an associate member. In South American Champs there is a mixture of T20I and T20 depending upon whether both teams are ICC or not (and also whether the ICC teams bring eligible squads or e.g. development squads). As above, the non-T20Is in those competitions are always listed here (even the Colombia v Uruguay matches in 2023 and 2024 for example as well as matches of those two teams against ICC member teams). Same difference? Editing47820471 (talk) 17:00, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Feel like the thing here is that non-T20I matches have been included here in the past only if they were part of a tournament also/mostly featuring T20Is. Just one bilateral series of non-T20Is, even if one (or even two) ICC members are playing, are expected to not be featured here. Even having a separate section might not guarantee clear information as info about such unofficial matches between two national teams are not always easily available (and there are quite a lot of those happening all the time) মাশ্‌ফী※Mashfi (ETP) 05:43, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
