Really now? It's like an elementary school dropout wrote this line. Please change as it is thoroughly embarrassing to show this to the public.-— Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.87.133.176 (talk) 16:45, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

APO Hiking Society → Apo Hiking Society – Name is derived from the historical figure Apolinario Mabini and is not an initialism. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 23:44, 3 March 2025 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). C F A 15:13, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
- @QuietHere [1] ABS-CBN uses Capitalization, PhilStar also uses the current title. Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 13:24, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
- They both are uses interchangeably. Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 13:25, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
- As MOS:CAPS tells us, stylized/nonstandard capitalization needs to be used "consistently ... in a substantial majority of independent, reliable sources". In instances like this, "interchangeably" means we defer to the standard of title case, just as my proposed title has it. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 05:47, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- Support. It's not an initialism and it's not consistently capitalized in reliable sources. In fact at The Best of Apo Hiking Society Volume 1, it's not capitalized on their album cover. SchreiberBike | ⌨ 00:31, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- Support. According to MOS:ALLCAPS, writing in all caps should be avoided when it serves only a stylistic purpose. Additionally, WP:TITLETM states that
items in full or partial uppercase (such as Invader ZIM) should have standard capitalization (Invader Zim)
. The "APO" in their name is not an initialism but was derived from Apolinario Mabini’s name. While some sources use all caps, several reliable sources also write it in sentence case ("Apo").[2][3][4][5][6][7]
- Although "APO" and "Apo" are used interchangeably across reliable sources, we are here on Wikipedia — where MOS:ALLCAPS and WP:TITLETM should apply. AstrooKai (Talk) 11:04, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- Support This is not an initialism that would use allcaps. Per WP:TITLETM and MOS:ALLCAPS we don't use allcaps unless the
spelling is demonstrably the most common usage in sources
. Per this search of news sources, the requirement is not being met. Cinderella157 (talk) 02:22, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
