Trawling is bad for undersea environments, so I would expect anti-trawling devices to benefit those environments. However, this article lists a bunch of positive consequences of removing them. Why do these things apparently not have the expected positive effect? Why does fishing increase around them? How are all these negative effects caused? Why do predators return if they're removed, and trawling is presumably returning? Unclear from the article. It just states that the effectiveness is understudied. Does that mean that they are uneffective, or harmfull, or just not great? This article seems to assume some foreknowledge that is never explained in the article.
