I don't know where the name of this page comes from, but other pages exist: Adullam and Cave of Adullam. Pages should be merged. --Sreifa (talk) 10:39, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

Would like to merge all pages pertaining to Adullam; name of page not final. --Sreifa (talk) 15:33, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose merge. The pages Adullam and Cave of Adullam related to the Hebrew Bible are sufficiently different from the article on the modern nature reserve that a merge is, in my view, not appropriate. -- Radagast3 (talk) 20:20, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

what if we call the page "Adulam" with a section on the NR that exists there today?--Sreifa (talk) 16:50, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comment I think we should merge this page into Adullam, instead. It would make more sense. Cave of Addulam could also merge there. Arlen22 (talk) 21:40, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose per Radagast3. A nature reserve is a geographical place based on some unique, rare, an /or endangered nature characteristic(s) the authorities deem worth protecting. On the other hand, if this was a national park, there would be a justification for merge since National Parks of Israel usually have a historical background, not a nature one. --Shuki (talk) 22:52, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As I said, "name of page not final". I'm open to suggestions on how to do it best. As for a nature reserves keeping rare or endangered characteristics, that is not always the case in Israel. Many times a reserve is declared just to curb building and other developments, and leave green areas. Also, while parks are usually maintained for visitors (nature-based or otherwise), not all reserves are maintained. I'm not sure what is unique about this particular reserve, but I'm fairly certain that we can find a way to present all the info on one page.--Sreifa (talk) 07:17, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Still oppose. A nature reserve to save grass and weeds as well as some flower is still a legitimate subject for a separate article. --Shuki (talk) 14:08, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose per Radagast3. TheCuriousGnome (talk) 17:06, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Question—what is the reserve's relation with ancient Adullam or the Cave of Adullam? This is not entirely clear either from the three articles or this discussion. —Ynhockey (Talk) 19:07, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The tel thought to be the site of ancient Adulam is in the reserve/park, the caves, too.--Sreifa (talk) 18:56, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

this article is about the park, not the nature reserve

[edit]

If the article is titled "Adulam Grove Nature Reserve" it should be only about the nature reserve. Shuki, your information is misleading. --Sreifa (talk) 10:40, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
