Military award ceremony?

[edit]

Even Ukrainian media is reporting the presence of a military award ceremony which was the intended target. https://kyivindependent.com/sumy-governor-organized-military-award-ceremony-on-day-of-russian-mass-attack-official-claims/ Why does the article slyly imply this didnt happen even though ukrainian sources confirm it?2001:BB6:1870:5500:A5A9:94B6:920B:D449 (talk) 11:59, 14 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ukrainian politician Maryana Bezuhla unintentionally gave it all away with this post on Twitter…

The lead is pretty skewed and doesn't synthesize the body. Unless the reader goes through the whole article, they will have the impression that Russia just targeted civilians. Alexis Coutinho (talk) 08:29, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I totally agree with you, this article should at the very least mention this situation.
The possible reasons behind an attack are also one of it's most important parts. 149.90.174.120 (talk) 11:56, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
they will have the impression that Russia just targeted civilians that's exactly what they did, yes. Super Ψ Dro 16:28, 20 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is becoming activism pal...
Note that my lack of reply in the Chernobyl strike page doesn't mean acceptance nor agreement. It's just that I haven't bothered putting in the time back there again. Alexis Coutinho (talk) 15:22, 21 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

"Airstrike"

[edit]

Isn't attack was carried out by Iskander Ballistic Missiles ? I think it should be "2025 Sumy strike". Elazığ Ahmet (talk) 17:30, 19 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

"Airstrike" is traditionally associated with the use of aircraft (airplanes, helicopters or drones, i.e., aviation assets), while Iskander-M is a ground-based missile system, and therefore the term "missile strike" is more appropriate, or even a "double missile strike" if we take into account the terror strategy used by Russia against Ukraine: when one strike is launched first, and when emergency services arrive at the arrival site, a second strike is launched.
