"Southwest United States" vs "Southwestern United States"
[edit]Should the page title be "Southwestern United States"? Citing (talk) 02:01, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

Chihuahua, Mexico
[edit]A few articles today regarding 16 reported cases reported in the Mennonite community in Chihuahua that seem to be directly linked to the cases in Texas. [1][2] Should this be included and the article be moved to a more broader name? Thoughts on this? Just tagging some recent editors - @Citing:, @ElijahPepe:, @Patapsco913:, @Leaky.Solar:, @The Green Star Collector: Ratherous (talk) 04:54, 15 March 2025 (UTC)
- Definitely worth mentioning in the article, but we should wait on the name until we get some more information. Citing (talk) 05:15, 15 March 2025 (UTC)
Recent Kennedy Tweet
[edit]We should add the information from the recent Tweet by Kennedy after attending the funerals [3]:
In Seminole, Texas, with Jake and Tina Fehr whose 2-year-old daughter, Helena was just discharged after three weeks in the ICU, Peter and Eva Fehr whose daughter, Kayley, 6, passed in February, and Pete and Eva Hildebrand whose daughter, Daisy, 8, we buried this afternoon. I also visited with these two extraordinary healers, Dr. Richard Bartlett and Dr. Ben Edwards who have treated and healed some 300 measles-stricken Mennonite children using aerosolized budesonide and clarithromycin. It was a heartbreaking day, but I felt so much warmth and love from the entire Mennonite community. I have bonded with many of these resilient, hardworking, resourceful, and God-loving people over the past three months and it was good to finally meet them in person.
Daily beast has an article on it but I'm not sure that would count as a reliable source - [4]. Remember (talk) 15:19, 7 April 2025 (UTC)

2025 Southwest United States measles outbreak → 2025 United States measles outbreak – Outbreak has spread outside the Southern US 1 2 3 4. Des Vallee (talk) 10:29, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
- Mild oppose. The measles outbreaks going on outside of the southwest US are notable but I don't believe they're epidemiologically linked, though I haven't followed as closely in the last month or so. I'm not opposed to having another article (perhaps branching off of Measles resurgence in the United States) but I think this outbreak should still have its own article because it's very geographically concentrated and has been traced to a small number of communities. Citing (talk) 14:56, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Citing: The current outbreaks all originate from the Southwest United States, which then spread to other areas. Des Vallee (talk) 23:02, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
- Correction, they all originate from unvaccinated Canadians and then spread to the US and Mexico 1 2. Des Vallee (talk) 23:09, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
