Picture selection.....

[edit]

I don't have any better, but is it really a good idea to use the losing team in the picture to represent this event? Doesn't it miscontrue the event a tad? --MateoP 00:19, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I also think it should be added that this was one of the biggest upsets in the history of professional sports. It really was. Everyone was picking the Lakers. Not even the Detroit Free Press was picking the Pistons.

Fair use rationale for Image:KobeGameWinner.jpg

[edit]

Image:KobeGameWinner.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:21, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA Review

[edit]

Ok here's the review

  • First of all the image needs a fair use rationale
  • Use – for scores and year ranges
  • The reference section should have two columns
  • The article needs lots of references as at the momemt it's all POV
  • "star-studded Lakers" - remove POV
  • Try add more description to the games sections, as this is the main part of the article it's too short
  • Put the officials in a table
  • Remove the trivia section or incorporate it into the article
  • "The games were broadcast on ABC by Al Michaels and Doc Rivers. To promote the series, they used the Black Eyed Peas' song "Let's Get It Started", which they had also used throughout the 2004 NBA Playoffs." - this needs referencing
  • Don't wilink individual years

I'll fail it for now, once you have done all the above, message me on my talk page NapHit 17:16, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Put the roster section into tables

Naphit I would disagree with the references one - (this article needs a lot of references) - most of the text either falls under common knowledge or no one would doubt their truthfulness - which is ok as according to WP:REF you only cite sources when material is "challenged or likely to be challenged." I'm not really sure what's challenge-able here (besides major pov like "star-studded")--danielfolsom 21:54, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok - I just saw what you added as "cn" tags- and I'll find a source for it all - however some of the stuff I would again say falls under common knowledge. Almost everyone that knows anything about the NBA knows the Lakers won 3 in a row.--danielfolsom 20:10, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Done--danielfolsom 20:44, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but anyone who doesn't know the NBA won't know the Lakers won three in a row. NapHit 14:45, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The article is still not there just yet, it needs more description, especially the games section, for example game four has only one sentence NapHit 14:07, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
