Reason for winning

Larned won the 1907 US men’s national championship as the boxed section makes clear - by a walkover to William Clothier in the challenge round. To get there he defeated LeRoy in the all comers finals. There were separate trophies for both. Recommend the second part of the first sentence is moved to the end of the second sentence eg “Defending Champion William Clothier was unable to defend his title in the Challenge Round due to an injury in his right leg therefore Larned won the men’s singles tennis title at the 1907 US National Championships by walkover.” Antipodenz (talk) 02:32, 4 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
