Sinomicrurus iwasakii, the Iwasaki's temperate Asian coralsnake, is a rare subspecies of coralsnake from Ishigaki and Iriomote islands of the Yaeyama Group, Ryukyu Archipelago, Japan.[2]
Etymology
[edit]The species is named after Takuji Iwasaki (1869-1937), the chief meteorologist at Ishigaki-jima, after whom Maki[3] also named Pareas iwasakii.
Common names
[edit]Other names include Iwasaki's temperate Asian coralsnake.
Feeding
[edit]It is reported to feed on small snakes.[2]
