Shamil Ozhaev (Russian: Шамиль Лечаевич Ожаев, born 4 August 1998) is a Kazakh and former Russian Greco-Roman wrestler.
Career
[edit]Ozhaev initially competed for Russia and placed 13th at the 2020 European Wrestling Championships.[1] He won the Russian national championship in 2020 and was runner-up in 2021.
He became the U23 European champion in 2021 and won a bronze medal at the 2021 U23 World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade. The same year, Ozhaev won the gold medal at the 2021 World Military Wrestling Championships in Tehran.
In 2024, he began representing Kazakhstan. He won a bronze medal at the 2025 Asian Wrestling Championships in Amman in the 87 kg category.[2]
