Sam Shaw (June 13, 1946 – October 6, 2024) was an American sound editor. He won a British Academy Film Award in the category Best Soundtrack for the film Star Wars.[1] He also won a Primetime Emmy Award and was nominated for three more in the category Outstanding Sound Editing.[2][3][4] = Shaw died on October 6, 2024, in Charleston, South Carolina, at the age of 78.[5]
