Casting
[edit]On June 4, 2024, it was announced that Rochelle Aytes, who played Nichelle Carmichael, would not be returning as a regular for the eighth season, as Aytes was cast as a lead in the CBS medical-mystery series Watson.[30] On July 18, 2024, it was announced that Niko Pepaj who played Miguel Alfaro would be upgraded to series regular, and that Annie Ilonzeh had been cast in a recurring role as Devin Gamble.[31] On December 12, 2024, Ilonzeh was later promoted to series regular status.[32]
Filming
[edit]Filming for the eighth season started in July 2024.[33] On January 9, 2025, production for the season was shut down due to the January 2025 Southern California wildfires.[34]
Cancellation
[edit]On March 6, 2025, it was announced that the eighth season would officially be the final season.[3]
