Ruggero Ignacio Cozzi Elzo (born 9 December 1986) is a Chilean lawyer and politician.
He was a member of the Chilean Constitutional Convention during 2021–2022.[1][2][3][4] Similarly, he has been professor of Public International Law and Human Rights at the University of the Andes, Chile.
Biography
[edit]He studied at Colegio Capellán Pascal and Colegio Arturo Prat Chacón, in Talcahuano, from which he graduated in 2004.
Cozzi joined Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (PUC) School of Law, where he graduated in early 2010s. In the PUC, he was a founding member of the student movement Solidaridad (lit. Solidarity),[5] based in the figure of Lech Wałęsa. He was sworn in as a lawyer before the Supreme Court of Justice on April 24, 2013. Then he completed a Master of Laws, University of Turin in Italy.
Once returned to Chile, he has practiced his profession in the areas of litigation and arbitration in Public Law. From 2014 to 2015, Cozzi was executive director of the NGO, Comunidad y Justicia.
Since 2016, he has been a member of the board of directors of the Libertad Institute, the think tank of his political party, National Renewal (RN). By the other hand, he is partner of the Baker McKenzie Law Firm, since 2017.
On 4 July he was elected as constituent.[6][7]
