[edit]

The act allows the Attorney General to set unlimited criteria for judicial appointees.[1] Under the legislation, the Solicitor General can select groups of special constables who would be allowed to use firearms.[2] The legislation mandates addiction treatment for people in the correctional system across jail, probation or parole.[3] The act gives more powers to police to investigate human trafficking in hotels and short-term rentals.[4] The act amends regulations relating to the sex offender registry so that child sex traffickers are included in the database.[5]
