Powar

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Powar is a Hindu agricultural caste found in the Balaghat, Seoni, Bhandara, and Gondia districts of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. They claim to be descendants of a band of Panwar Rajputs from Malwa, but they have developed into a distinct caste and marry among themselves. They speak the Powari language. [1][2]
