History
[edit]July 9, 2024, the Ohio Catholic Athletic Conference was formed by eight catholic high schools based in northeast and central Ohio. Two charter members from northeast Ohio are Ursuline, and Walsh Jesuit. Ursuline will move from the Steel Valley Conference, while the others are currently independent of a conference; Walsh Jesuit was previously a member of the Crown Conference which ended operations in 2024. The three charter members from central Ohio are Bishop Hartley, Bishop Watterson, and St. Francis DeSales, all moving from the disbanding Central Catholic League.
In February 2025, 3 of the original 8 founding members have since dropped out, citing concerns with traveling. Villa-Angela St. Joesph, St. Vincent-St. Mary and Cardinal Mooney High School have all dropped out respectively[3]
