He was rated as a four-star recruit and received offers from schools such as Auburn, Florida, Louisville, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, and Penn State.[1] Initially, Evers committed to play college football for the Florida Gators.[1] However, he later flipped his commitment to play for the Oklahoma Sooners.[2]
