Natalie Toro is a former Democratic member of the Illinois Senate from the 20th district.[1] She was sworn in on July 10, 2023.[2] She was appointed to the vacancy created by the resignation of Cristina Pacione-Zayas.[3][4]

Illinois Senate

[edit]

Toro was appointed to temporarily replace Cristina Pacione-Zayas in 2023, with a special election to be held in 2024 to fill the remainder of the term, after Pacione-Zayas left the Illinois Senate to join the administration of Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson.[3][4] In March 2024, Toro was defeated by Graciela Guzmán in the Democratic primary in advance of the special election.
