Mullingar Mansion is a historic residence located in Mussoorie, a hill station in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand, India.[1][2] It was constructed in 1825 and is one of the earliest buildings established in the town.[3] The mansion is associated with Captain Frederick Young, an Irish officer in the British Army and the first commander of the Sirmoor Battalion,[4][5] who was involved in the development of Mussoorie as a hill station during the colonial era. It was named after Young’s hometown of Mullingar, in County Westmeath, Ireland, and served as his residence during his time in India.[6] The mansion is located near the Landour Cantonment in Mussoorie.[7]
