Monument of Jiangsu Road (Chinese: 江苏路纪念碑) is a monument erected on August 16, 1999 at the east entrance of Jiangsu Road in Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, China. [1]
History
[edit]Jiangsu Road was built on August 27, 1997 as a road supported by Jiangsu Province, as one of the 62 Aid Projects to Tibet.[2][3] In 2012, the Tibet Autonomous Region commenced its primary flood season. The Lhasa Flood Control and Drought Relief Command concentrated on the Lhasa River's Jiangsu Road Monument section, conducting a thorough inspection of the riverbed. Necessary reinforcements for high-risk sections were comprehensively executed to mitigate potential hazards.[4]
