The Muncie History has a Middlefork Baptist church, and relates that to the Middle Fork of Big Creek. The Hendricks Biographical does not have a Middlefork, nor do any contemporary gazetteers; neither do they have Foltz; providing no second source to back up Baker. There was a Middle Fork station on the Pennsylvania Railroad, two stops north of Wirt according to Meints's Indiana Railroad Lines, however. (February 2025) |

Middlefork is an unincorporated community in Lancaster Township, Jefferson County, Indiana.
The community took its name from the Middle Fork Creek.[3]
