User bludgeoning discussion and being unnecessarily aggressive
[edit]User:Ssr has been making the atmosphere of the already controversial and chaotic Talk:Public consultation about Wikinews needlessly hostile with their bludgeoning of arguments and general attacks against the WMF and users they disagree with. They aren’t interested in discussing the issue, they’re only interested in loudly making the same points over and over. If an admin could step in and do something it would be appreciated. Dronebogus (talk) 22:49, 18 July 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not going to handle this or close this (since I'm involved with that discussion), but IMO defending your own project from closure is not what I would call bludgeoning. I will also note that you [Dronebogus] have already made your stance very clear that you think Wikinews should be closed and I ask whichever admin decides to handle this to take this into account. Just my 2c. //shb (t • c) 23:18, 18 July 2025 (UTC)
- In my defense I also said I’d support transforming it into Wikimagazine or merging it. My position has some nuance and hasn’t remained static during the discussion. Ssr just seems to be jackhammering their incredibly obvious position that closing WN is borderline evil. Dronebogus (talk) 01:06, 19 July 2025 (UTC)
- "Transforming it into Wikimagazine" is a my idea that I promote for many years. Thanks for supporting my ideas! --Ssr (talk) 06:32, 19 July 2025 (UTC)

- The words "they aren’t interested in discussing the issue" is totally incorrect. I am always interested in discussing the issue and have been discussing it for 18 years, making numerous decisions as a volunteer editor and admin in results of these discussions which all were logged. Please do not provide totally incorrect information in your reports. --Ssr (talk) 01:33, 19 July 2025 (UTC)
- We won't discuss future of Wikinews here on this venue and I urge both editors to conclude with such actions here. I will only point out that we do not do bludgeoning blocks here on Meta and enwiki editors should stop exporting en-masse their policies onto other wikiprojects. A09|(pogovor) 10:08, 19 July 2025 (UTC)
- Exactly. User:Dronebogus along with small group of his supporters is conducting a cross-wiki attack against me. This is wiki-stalking, and this is strictly prohibited. One of the points of the problem covered in recent Signpost. --Ssr (talk) 10:33, 19 July 2025 (UTC)

- I do not see a need to take administrative action at this time, but will keep a watch on the discussion. As a procedural note (cc A09 in particular), I should note that metawiki admins can do bludgeoning blocks if necessary – it'd fall under the basic etiquette covered by Meta:Civility, as an excessive number of the same points in long replies makes resolving disputes difficult. Admins can stop incivility and disruptive editing using their toolkit whether that necessarily comes exactly under policy or not. --Ferien (talk) 11:48, 19 July 2025 (UTC)

Wuu Wikipedia
[edit]Wuu Wikipedia, a small Chinese-language Wikipedia appears to have been under the sway of a single editor since the last few years, Jason2016426. This has been noted by other editors as well [1]. I haven't reviewed the editor's other edits but those at wuu:2025年印度—巴基斯坦空战 are stunning. Beyond the obvious POV, the user has repeatedly added a debunked hoax/fake news to the article (debunked by Chinese state media itself). I raised this concern at their enwiki Talk [2] (listed as their primary Talk page) but received no reply and the user continues to edit war to have the hoax up. I cannot tell if this is a case of incompetence or deliberate disruption, nonetheless intervention is required.
I would not be surprised if the user doesn't reply here, considering the overall unresponsiveness. Gotitbro (talk) 22:03, 19 July 2025 (UTC)
- I'm also not surprised for this happened, for ur not seeing the words on the edit summary and my mistake for not watching the talk page where u're giving the reference last dusk.--Jason2016426 (talk) 03:42, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Jason2016426 and Gotitbro: This isn't correct venue for local content dispute, please raise concern at local dispute resolution page, e.g local Village pump or Admin' noticeboard. – Phương Linh (T · C · CA · L · B) 05:01, 20 July 2025 (UTC)

Opt out enwikibooks from global filter 407
[edit]We have filter 12 over there, and therefore the global filter is unnecessary. Thank you. Codename Noreste (talk) 04:28, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
