M.L Kantha Rao (Muppirala Lakshmi Kantha Rao)

Professor Muppirala Lakshmi Kantha Rao (4 Feb 1937 - 28 Feb 2016) - , known as Prof. M.L.Kantha Rao, was an Indian economist and administrator.

He worked as a professor of economics, and later as dean and principal of Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. He obtained his Doctorate degree in Economics from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. He was an expert on Andhra Pradesh finances from the time of composite Madras state. He was appointed the chairman of the 4th State Finance Commission.
