Lori Denise Wilson (born July 17, 1976)[1] is an American politician elected to the California State Assembly.[2] She is a Democrat elected to represent the 11th district, encompassing Solano County and parts of Contra Costa County, including the city of Oakley, and Sacramento County.[3] Prior to being elected to the state assembly, she was mayor of Suisun City.[4]

In 2023, Wilson authored AB957,[5][6] a bill that would have required courts to consider a parent’s affirmation of their child’s gender identity or expression when determining the child's best interest in custody or visitation proceedings. This bill was ultimately vetoed by Governor Newsom.

In November 2023, Wilson made history when she was appointed chair of the Assembly Transportation Committee, becoming the first Black woman to hold that position in California.[7]
