List of medical schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Medical education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) has seen significant growth, with the province now offering a total of 2,635 medical seats across both public and private institutions. Khyber Medical University (KMU), established in 2007, serves as the central hub for medical education, encompassing numerous constituent and affiliated colleges throughout the province . The region hosts a diverse array of medical colleges, including both public institutions like Khyber Medical College and private establishments such as Gandhara University . In response to evolving healthcare needs, KMU introduced the Master in Health Professions Education (MHPE) program, the first of its kind in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, aimed at enhancing the quality of medical education . Despite these advancements, challenges persist, particularly in the implementation of integrated curricula, as highlighted by recent studies involving stakeholders from various medical colleges in Peshawar.
