Lee Johnston (born November 17, 1992) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper.
Career
[edit]Johnston spent part of his youth soccer career playing for JBS FC under the guidance of Head Coach Jonathan Langer. He helped lead JBS FC to win multiple tournament titles, including the Disney Soccer Showcase, Disney Presidents Day Cup, and the APC Cup. When Johnston moved to Newberry, Florida, he joined Leg-A-Z Soccer Academy in Gainesville. At Oak Hall School in Gainesville, Johnston played varsity soccer as a goalkeeper and also competed in baseball as a center fielder under Coach Basil Benjamin at Leg-A-Z and Oak Hall.
College
[edit]Johnston played four years of college soccer, spending two years each at the University of Pittsburgh and at West Virginia University.[1][2]
Professional career
[edit]Johnston signed with San Antonio FC on March 18, 2016.[3]
Personal
[edit]Johnston is the grandson of former professional baseball player Joe Hicks.[1]
