Krawczyki [krafˈt͡ʂɨkʲi] (German: Kraftshagen)[1] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Bartoszyce, within Bartoszyce County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland, close to the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia.[2] It lies approximately 6 km (4 mi) south of Bartoszyce and 50 km (31 mi) north of the regional capital Olsztyn.
History
[edit]The suffix -hagen of the historic village name is typical for settlements founded by Germans during Medieval Ostsiedlung.[3]
