Career

[edit]

Flynn began her career in the film industry with a producing credit on The Automatic Hate, a drama released in 2015 that explores family secrets and reconciliation.[1] She later co-produced This Changes Everything, a 2018 documentary examining gender inequality in Hollywood, which received critical acclaim for its insightful commentary and was narrated by prominent figures in the industry.[2] In 2024, Flynn produced Lilly, a film inspired by the life of fair pay advocate Lilly Ledbetter, further solidifying her reputation in independent cinema.[3]

Her work often focuses on socially relevant themes, showcasing her commitment to storytelling that challenges societal norms. Flynn’s transition from fashion and human resources to film production highlights her diverse background and adaptability.[4]

Personal life

[edit]

Kerianne Flynn has long been fascinated by space exploration. In 2011, she signed up to fly as a passenger on a Virgin Galactic spaceflight, expressing enthusiasm for the experience ahead of a planned launch in 2021.[5] Although her Virgin Galactic flight has not yet occurred, her passion for space travel culminated in her selection for Blue Origin’s New Shepard NS-31 mission. On February 27, 2025, Blue Origin announced that Flynn would join an all-female crew, including Katy Perry, Amanda Nguyen, Aisha Bowe, Gayle King, and Lauren Sánchez, for a suborbital flight scheduled for April 14, 2025, from Launch Site One in West Texas.[6][7] This mission, the eleventh human flight of the New Shepard program, is noted as the first all-female crew since Valentina Tereshkova’s solo flight in 1963.[8]

Flynn’s inclusion in the NS-31 crew reflects her adventurous spirit and aligns with the mission’s goal to inspire future generations of women in space exploration.[9]
