JaiKrishan Jajoo is an Indian businessman and philanthropist who founded jagriti an NGO.[1][2][3]

Early life and education

Born in 1960 to Dr. B.K. Jajoo, a cardiologist, Jajoo's early life experiences in Rajasthan made him aware of the hardships faced by slum dwellers, especially children lacking basic educational opportunities.[4][5]

Career

In 1983, Jajoo founded the Shubhashish Group, a real estate development, packaging, logistics, and financial management company. In 2001, Jajoo founded Jagriti, a non-governmental organization dedicated to serve quality education to children residing in slums.[6] The organization focuses on enhancing educational infrastructure, ensuring access to clean water, proper sanitation, and nutritious mid-day meals.[7] The London World Book of Records recognized Jagriti for providing the maximum number of mobile mortuary services, benefiting over 9,000 families free of cost in 13 years.[8]

Awards

He was awarded the National Youth Award in 2018 by Narendra Modi. Shiksha Vibhushan Award in 2019 for education and the Highest State Civilian Award for Excellence by the Rajasthan government for 9 consecutive years.[9]
