JT Tran, also known as The Asian Playboy, is the CEO of ABCs of Attraction,[1] a dating coach, and pickup artist as well as an dating advice columnist for LA Weekly.[2]

Career

[edit]

Tran spoke at Yale in 2011 for Master's Tea and was featured in The Yale Herald.[3]

In March 2012, Tran was interviewed live by Juju Chang on ABC's Nightline; Chang compared him to Jeremy Lin, John Cho, Harry Shum, Jr., and Daniel Dae Kim.[4][5] He discussed his past failures with women, attributing them to Asian stereotypes such as "good grades but poor social skills," but stated that he later achieved success by "applying his systematic engineering skills to dating." He also stated that these are the skills he teaches men at ABCs of Attraction today.[4][6][unreliable source?] To demonstrate the effectiveness of his methods, the TV crew followed Tran during a lecture and then into the field live and unstaged.[4]
