I Can See Your Voice franchise |
I Can See Your Voice Singapore[1] is a Singaporean English-language television mystery music game show based on the South Korean programme of the same title. It premiered on Channel 5 on 13 January 2025.[2]
Gameplay
[edit]Format
[edit]Presented with a group of six "mystery singers", the guest artists must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel over the course of four rounds. At the end of a game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.[2]
The winning mystery singer, regardless of being good or bad, gets S$10,000. At the end of its season, they also awarded a Nissan Leaf.
Rounds
[edit]- First Impressions
The guest artists are given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance. Afterward, a muted video of each mystery singer that reveals only 0.3 seconds of their singing voice is played as an additional hint. - Lip Sync Challenge
Divided into two groups of three (or a pair of) mystery singers, each of them have to perform a lip sync of their own. - Unlock my Life
The guest artists are presented with a video package containing possible clues by one of the mystery singers. - Interrogation
The guest artists may ask questions to the remaining mystery singers. Good singers are required to give truthful responses, while the bad singers must lie.
Background
[edit]Mediacorp formally acquired the rights to produce a local adaptation of I Can See Your Voice in Singapore in July 2024, including with production duties assigned by the in-house Mediacorp Studios;[3] this was also the first to be adapted from a singing talent programme emanating in a foreign country (as in South Korea), since Singapore Idol (a local adaptation of the British programme Pop Idol) in 2004.[a]
