Muhammad Hassan Nawaz Thind (born 21 August 2002) is a Pakistani cricketer. In March 2025, he received his maiden international call-up for Pakistan's tour of New Zealand.[1] On 16 March 2025, he made his T20I debut against New Zealand at Hagley Oval, in the first match of the tour.[2] He scored his maiden T20I century against New Zealand on March 21, 2025, scoring 105 runs off 45 balls.[3][4][5]

Early career

[edit]

Nawaz was born in a town 6 kilometers from Layyah in southern Punjab, a city with little history of professional cricket, and was initiated in the sport through tape-ball cricket.[6] With no future in sight by living in Layyah, and on the pretext of studying, he decided to move to Islamabad and live with his sister who supported him through his initial days.[7] He joined the city's Lashings Club at the age of 14, where he played for some six years, inclusing in the Islamabad Cricket Association (ICA) League, before integrating the Lucky Star Cricket Club, and later represented the ICA at Under-19 level.[8] His success would eventually earn him a call in 2022 for the Kashmir Premier League.[7]

Domestic career

[edit]

In August 2022, he was named to Northern's squad for the 2022-23 National T20 Cup.[9] Before being selected by Northern, he played for the Mirpur Royals in the Kashmir Premier League, where he was the second top-scorer.[10] In PSL Season 8, he played for Islamabad United. In PSL Season 10, he has been picked by Quetta Gladiators.

International career

[edit]

In March 2025, Nawaz received his maiden international call-up for Pakistan's tour of New Zealand.[11]On 16 March 2025, he made his T20I debut against New Zealand at Hagley Oval, in the first match of the tour resulting in a duck.[12] On 21 March 2025, he scored his maiden T20I hundred after being dismissed for 2 consecutive ducks. This was the fastest T20I international hundred for Pakistan.[13]
