Programme KoWa SysPi SpezKr Bw ("Kompaktwaffe des Systems Pistole Spezialkräfte der Bundeswehr"), framework contract of 7 years to supply 3,300 compact pistols to the special forces in replacement of the H&K P30 and the P9A1 (Glock 17 3rd generation).[2]

The order is for 118,718 rifles (€209 million),[6] the deliveries will start in 2024.

The "Future System, Indirect Fire, Longer-Range” program has for intention to modernize and broaden the artillery capabilities.[29]

The Bundeswehr mentions an objective of 168 new wheeled Self-Propelled Howitzer. The expected candidates are:

In October 2023, the RCH-155 was mentioned as likely selected in October 2023 because the Rheinmetall option is not technologically mature enough.[32]

In April 2024, Germany and the UK committed on developing the RCH-155, which would further support the intent of the Bundeswehr to make it their additional howitzer.[33]

The delivery is expected to take place from 2029. [28]

5 5 PULS in collaboration with the Netherlands to compensate for the 5 M270 transferred to Ukraine, the purchase was approved in December 2024.[34]

Contract signed with Elbit Systems in February 2025 for €55 million.

The approval of the American government will be required to use some of the GMLRS features with the PULS system.[35]

Delivery expected in 2028, full operational capability for 2030.[36]

Development ongoing with MBDA Deutschland GmbH, KMW and ESG for an artillery ammunition to equip the future multiple rocket launchers.[41]

It is a maneuverable, low altitude, stealthy missile, with a range of 499 km. An EMP warhead has been shown as a potential weapon for this missile. It is based on the Taurus KEPD 350.

Potential capability as a loitering munition.

Typhon missile system United States Transporter erector launcher On July 15, 2025, the German Minister of Defense announced that Germany had submitted a purchase request to the U.S. government for an undisclosed number of systems. A purchase decision will be made as soon as this is confirmed.[42]

It was initially decided that Germany would participate to the program "Common Armored Vehicle System" (CAVS) with Finland, Latvia, Estonia and Sweden, as a framework agreement was signed[57] to replace the TPz Fuchs.

In November 2023 though, 2 additional vehicles were considered as potential competitors. The Bundeswehr will select between the:[58]

A decision is planned for 2024, and it's planned to be financed by the €100 billion special fund.

In January 2025, the decision has been made, and the Patria 6×6 was selected. The German Armed Forces requested a binding offer to Patria for 300 vehicles. The approval for the budget by the parliament is expected for the end of 2025.[59]

As of 2024, around 1,000 vehicles were planned in all variants.[44]

As of July 2025, the requirements were raised to 3,500.[60]

The German Army plans to purchase additional Boxer vehicles. As of early July 2025, the German Army estimated a requirement of up to 2,500 Boxer in different variants.[65] By the end of July 2025, that number was raised to 3,000.[64]

They are to be supplied by Rheinmetal, and used for initial emergency surgical and internal medical care.[94]

Each rescue station is made of two swap-body containers that expand on both sides, tripling volume. The trucks are parked back to back. An airlock is installed in between.

They are to be supplied by Rheinmetal, and used for initial emergency surgical and internal medical care.[94]

Each rescue station is made of two swap-body containers that expand on both sides, tripling volume. The trucks are parked back to back. An airlock is installed in between.

1 Fire unit is designed to protect one brigade (corresponds to 20x20 km (400 km2) in high intensity warfare) budget of €600-700 million.[99] The request of the Bundeswehr for the composition of each fire unit was:[106]

  • 1 medium range platoon, 2 launch vehicles, 1 radar, 1 command post
  • 2 short range platoons, each made of 3 launch vehicles, 1 tactical command vehicle
  • Logistic and support vehicles

ARGE NNbS (joint venture including Diehl Defence, Rheinmetall Electronics and Hensoldt Sensors) offered the following solution for this phase of the program.

On top of the, the SWS (SLS Weapon System) of the High mobility SHORAD Squad, additional equipment are planned:[99][107][108]

  • CPV, the Close-in Protection Vehicle, a Mowag Eagle V 4×4 equipped with a heavy remote weapon station (30 mm cannon + anti-tank missile) to protect SHORAD squads against UAV and ground ennemi.
  • CCL, Command, Control & Liaison, a fire unit command Air battle management based on a Mowag Eagle V 4×4 or 6×6. It aims at coordinating 6 Squads
  • REL, a reloader truck to support all vehicles of the squad with consumables and munitions. It would be likely based on Mercedes Zetros for its high tactical mobility.
